Define a function g(x) in terms of f(x) so that for all x, if
f(x) is non-negative, then g(x) = f(x) and if

- Prove that the set of all rational numbers is closed under addition, multiplication, subtraction and division.
- Why is our number system the set of all real numbers and not the set of all rational numbers?
In other words, why did we need irrational numbers?
