  • A course outline is now posted, covering the topics of the course until the midterm exam.
  • Some of the old announcements were removed from this page. They are all available under the new link "Previous Announcements".
  • A few typos were fixed. You can access the documents by clicking on the link and press the refresh button. Please mark your handouts or print out the new ones. The following mistakes were found (thank you, Esther):
    • Evaluating Algebraic Expressions:
      • in problem #2) when p=7 and q=3, pq=21 and not 8
      • in problem #4) the correct question is 2p-q, and not 2q-p
      • in problem #8) the correct question is 2q2, and not 2p2
    • Solutions of Equations:
      • in problem #2b) the correct answer is: 21 not equals 4 and NOT 21 not equals 9
      • in problem #3a) the correct answer is: 32 not equals 36 and NOT 32 not equals 92
